Kathy Tremblay

Co-Center Director, Learning Empowered Campus

“Teaching young children is my passion and I love what I do. I believe in early childhood education, that we create a solid foundation necessary for future success. It takes a village to raise a child and we have to meet each child at their level.” - Kathy

Ms. Kathy started her career in the field of education in 1988 at Lyndon State College in Vermont. She did a field work study in a child care center and fell in love with it. She has an Associate Degree in General Studies. Kathy graduated with distinction in Bachelor of Arts in Human Development. She served on the committees at Rasmussen College and advocated on behalf of children and families with letters to legislators.

Kathy has 36 years of experience in early childhood education. She has a temporary teaching certificate for ages 3 to 3rd grade and teaches children of different age groups from six weeks to 5th grade. Ms. Kathy has 62 credits in early childhood development, director credential with VPK endorsement, and extensive training in TSG, MMCI, Circle of Security, Conscious Discipline, Trauma-Informed Care and other certifications in the field. She also owns a family child care home program.

She has been married for 34 years, has four children ages 33, 30, 14-year old twins, and three grandchildren. According to Kathy, her family is her life. She grew up in a small papermill town. The immediate family circle, extended relatives, and the whole town worked together to raise families. Indeed, family was everything. She learned from her parents on how to be resilient and be a problem solver. They loved her unconditionally and taught to follow her dreams and desires.

When one of the centers under the Quality Early Learning Initiative Program started its services to families, Kathy was the director who opened Learning Empowered at McCabe. Then, she transferred to LE at St. Mark’s location and took over the director position. She left the organization and decided to come back. She is excited to be with Learning Empowered again as Co-Center Director in Learning Empowered Campus.
