Pinellas County Comfort Stations
Comfort stations are available in areas where residents remain without power following Hurricane Milton. These stations will provide a place for residents to cool off and charge their phones. This page will be updated as more cooling stations become available.
Post-Hurricane Fraud Prevention
Many areas in the county have incurred severe property damage because of back-to-back impacts from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Pinellas County Consumer Protection wants to remind residents to be cautious when hiring someone to make repairs. Avoid becoming a victim of a home improvement scam by recognizing these warning signs.

United Way Suncoast Resources

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
If you have been affected by a disaster, federal assistance may be available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
FEMA Temporary Hotel Stay For Displaced Citizens
Residents in these counties who have applied for disaster assistance may be eligible to stay temporarily in a hotel or motel paid for by FEMA. Applicants do not need to request this assistance. FEMA will notify them of their eligibility through an automated phone call, text message, and/or email, depending upon the method of communication they selected at the time of application for disaster assistance.
Flood Insurance Advocate
The Office of the Flood Insurance Advocate (OFIA) advocates for the fair treatment of policyholders and property owners by providing education and guidance on all aspects of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), identifying trends affecting the public, and making recommendations for NFIP improvements to FEMA leadership.
Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP)
Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) provides food assistance for individuals and families impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton who are not receiving food assistance through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

National Flood Insurance Program
The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) provides insurance to help reduce the socio-economic impact of floods. Flood insurance is a separate policy that can cover buildings, the contents in a building, or both. The NFIP provides flood insurance to property owners, renters, and businesses, and having this coverage helps them recover faster when floodwaters recede.

Operation Blue Roof
Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for FEMA, the free program provides homeowners in disaster areas with fiber-reinforced sheeting to cover their damaged roofs.
