Why Choose Our Family Wrap-Around Services Program?

In this program, we collaborate with community partners to support families' diverse needs across social services. Through referrals, we connect families to resources for food, clothing, shelter, mental health, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Read Together: Intergenerational Family Literacy Program

This program focuses on enhancing English language skills for families by integrating the learning experiences of adults and children. It offers in-person English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults while concurrently providing engaging reading and activity groups for their children. This dual approach fosters an environment where both generations can learn and grow together.

At the conclusion of the classes, families participate in a guided reading activity, featuring new children's books that they can take home. This encourages ongoing practice and reinforces the importance of reading within the family unit.

The program is structured around several key objectives:

  • Improving English language proficiency across all generations within families.

  • Enhancing early literacy and school readiness for children aged 2 to 6 years.

  • Strengthening the relationships between parents and children.

  • Equipping families with strategies to support their children’s literacy skills at home.

  • Fostering connections within families and the wider community to provide additional support.

  • Increasing families’ understanding of how to nurture their child’s developing literacy skills effectively.

By promoting these goals, this program aims to create a meaningful impact on family literacy and community engagement.
